Joanne Borduas, CEO of Community Health & Wellness, Receives Citation from the Connecticut General Assembly
Torrington, CT - Joanne Borduas, CEO of Community Health & Wellness (CHW), received an Official Citation from the General Assembly of the State of Connecticut. The award was in recognition of her “tremendous leadership to the Community Health and Wellness Center of Great Torrington during these difficult times. You have done an extraordinary job guiding the organization through your outstanding leadership. The City of Torrington and Greater Community recognize your work and dedication and are grateful for your commitment.”
The award was presented to Borduas by State Representatives Michelle Cook and Maria Horn at the center’s monthly staff meeting. At the meeting, Borduas was thanking her staff for their exemplary team work and positivity during the pandemic.
She was unaware that she was nominated for the award by CHW staff members, who had contacted local representatives to acknowledge her dedication, hard work, and leadership. “I am truly appreciative of this honor,” said Borduas.
She then addressed her staff, stating, “When we were asked by the City of Torrington, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, and the Department of Public Health to help in a state of emergency due to Torrington moving to a red zone, you all jumped in without hesitation to set up for COVID testing. “What you did exemplifies team work and the power of positivity.
And this is why I love working here and why I am so proud to be the CEO of such an amazing organization. Thank you for taking care of our community and your dedication to our mission.”
