North Canaan CT, April 24, 2024 – Community Health & Wellness Center (CHWC) is thrilled to announce an Open House event for its new Regional Healthcare Center in North Canaan on Saturday, May 11, from 10 am to 1 pm. This event celebrates the grand opening of the latest addition to CHWC's network, providing comprehensive medical and mental health services to the Northwest Corner of Connecticut.
Joanne Borduas, CEO of CHWC, expressed her gratitude for the community's support, saying, "It truly takes a village to make something like this happen. We are overwhelmed by the warmth and encouragement from the Northwest Corner as we open our doors. Thanks to the generosity of so many individuals and organizations, we can now offer vital healthcare services to the people in all the surrounding towns. We are excited to welcome everyone to our Open House and to share our vision for a healthier community.” The new center was designed with the community in mind, featuring a welcoming and tranquil environment. Local interior designer Katie Baldwin explained, "We aimed to create a space that is as inviting and comfortable as it is functional. By incorporating colors and themes from the natural landscape, and original art from local artists, we wanted to make patients feel at home in their medical center." CHWC's new Regional Healthcare Center will offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including primary care, women's health, pediatrics, chronic disease management, chiropractic care, and behavioral health services. Community Health Workers will be on hand to help patients with social determinants of health, like access to healthy food, affordable housing, transportation, and language assistance as well as health insurance enrollment. CHWC provides high-quality, affordable, and accessible care, accepting HUSKY, Medicare, and most commercial insurances, with financial assistance available for those who qualify. The Open House provides a unique opportunity for the public to tour the new facility and learn about the range of services offered. Visitors are encouraged to meet the CHWC team (many of them local residents) and discover the comprehensive care available at the new center. The hours of the new Regional Healthcare Center in North Canaan will be Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Appointments can be made by calling 860-362-5101.
