Our well-equipped MMU addresses the transportation barriers that often prevent individuals from receiving the care they need. By bringing healthcare directly to where people live and work, BETTY serves as a vital resource for vulnerable and underserved populations. Our mission is to deliver quality healthcare services while reducing social disparities and promoting equity in health access.

Services Offered by BETTY
BETTY travels throughout the Northwest Corner to provide a variety of non-critical care services, including:

• Medical Screenings and Examinations: Comprehensive assessments to monitor and manage health conditions.
• Point-of-Care Testing: Quick and efficient tests, including blood glucose, pregnancy tests, A1C levels, hemoglobin, blood pressure, vision and hearing screenings, and rapid tests for strep, influenza, HIV, and Hepatitis C.
• Vaccinations: Essential immunizations to keep our communities healthy.
• Social Determinants of Health Screening: Assessing barriers to care and determining eligibility for insurance and support services.
• Health Education: Providing information on disease processes and promoting healthy living, along with preventative measures to improve health outcomes.
• Referrals for Continuity of Care: Connecting patients to CHWC’s sites in Torrington, Winsted, and North Canaan, as well as referring to community partners for specialized care, imaging, pharmacy, and lab services when necessary.

A Dedicated Team
Our MMU is staffed by a highly-skilled team, including medical providers, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and community health workers. With the capability to enter data into our electronic medical record system, BETTY ensures efficient clinical management, patient documentation, and continuity of care.
