TORRINGTON, CT, April 6--Community Health & Wellness Center(CHWC) announces the launch of a new allergy testing and treatment service for patients to identify and treat allergies.
CHWC’s allergy team tests for 60 different environment allergens—from mold spores and trees to grass and pollen—and 30 different food allergens.
Allergies can be responsible for much more than just a stuffy nose, itchy, watery eyes, and other unpleasant effects. They can also cause sleeping disorders, anxiety, a decrease in quality of life, and learning and attention problems. If left untreated, allergies can worsen throughout a person’s life and develop into asthma.
“Many people suffer from allergies, but they don’t have to,” said Alysha Lyman, LPN, who conducts allergy testing at CHWC. “Our testing is fast, easy, and painless. The entire process takes between 30 and 40 minutes, and subsequent immunotherapy treatment can result in an improved quality of life.”
“Spring is a time of blooms and blossoms, which also welcomes seasonal allergies,” says Joanne Borduas, CEO, CHWC. “Food allergies are a year-round problem for many, as well. We are pleased to have expanded our medical service offerings to now provide patients allergy relief with our new testing and treatment program.”
There are websites that offer allergy forecasts. www.pollen.com is an allergy tracker that provides information on current allergy forecasts according to your location. Other helpful allergy trackers include https://weather.com/health/allergy where you can type in your city or zip code, and the National Allergy Bureau https://pollen.aaaai.org/#/.
